Ulster Football Rules!!! ;)

whey hey - what a day y'day .. first Down win, and then Tyrone .. just excellent! Well done to the Tyrone guys, was just wonderful atmosphere and excitement in Croker yesterday, couldn't have been anywhere else.. and yes, we ran onto the pitch afterwards..
After 10 championships games, the sadness of 2003 - they utterly deserved it.. the fitness, skill and class of the Tyrone panel, no one can begrudge them this win..
Hard luck Kerry supporters, but you have won you're share.. now its time for Sam to travel north, we're been without for long enough..

u21's + timetables

well done to the Galway U21 hurler's on their win yesterday and of course to the Cork ladies.. next weekend, though is the big one!! Good luck Tyrone!!
Productive weekend work-wise, got a good bit done, but then again needed to!
..running did some yesterday, not as much as i would have liked, but every bit helps they say... heard 4 men died doing the Great north Run at the weekend.. me thinking/worrying about the whole running thing! - thought it was meant to be healthy, not kill you!! .. on a serious note though is very sad..

rest, sleep and run

went running yesterday, first time this week - i know not a good for one who is supposedly 'training'.. anyway, legs feel heavy and hard after it.. gota get out a few times over weekend..
the song i'm 'in love' with at the mo (if that’s possible) is Declan O'Rourke's 'No Place to Hide' and 'Sarah'.. think its his voice, the lyrics, the power and expression of the music - everything! ;)
got word re. a PhD Form meeting October 12th, gonna pencil it in to my schedule, hopefully will make it down - or more importantly i suppose, hope i have some work done by then to go down with!

home grown talent...

Last night went to a Mundy gig - was really good, he sure got all us Monaghan folk going.. was good .. Declan o'Rourke was there too (though not playing, suppose he had enough from the night before ;) chatting to them after, sound guys...
Rory Geary played Monday night ... so, all in all, have had a few good nights music in town - all home grown irish talent!

Timetables and classes are still going through, what can only be described as 'teething problems' but is all being sorted out.. tough job finalising timetables with so many requests etc. - brave man to do it!

Still haven't done any running this week, will try and get out this evening..

Tuesday news

Well apologies for the lack of blogging lately .. had a what can only be described as a ‘mad Monday’ yesterday!!
Crazy – everything happening, people phoning, calling, emailing – requests for things to do, jobs to be finished and meeting/presentation to prepare for and give today…. .aahhhh all done now and ready for bed! (was a late night last night, what with finishing work for presentation and preparing lecture notes for today!)

Going to see Declan O’Rourke this evening –he’s playing in Monaghan – boy oh boy, don’t we get the stars! ;) Should be good, looking forward to it, if I don’t fall asleep in the middle of it..

Running going ok, did about 4x6k sessions last week and then a 6mile run on Sunday – have yet to start this week though!

Team Building

OK well have returned for 3 days Team Building with some of our fourth years! … sore head, aching stomach, bruises – all in all was a fun weekend .. just need to sleep for a week!
Myself and 2 other lecturers went – and well, the three days consisted of banana-boating, canoeing, sliding down a sheet of plastic, archery, wall climbing, boat-building .. great fun! Think the students enjoyed it also, and ‘bonded’! ;)

Was good entertainment Wednesday evening with the match, and then Thursday we headed in to Carlingford – good fun! ;)

September 1st..

In Dundalk today, and have loads on my plate projects, meetings (that results in work!), PhD and of course my modules - .. I'm conscience that the teaching is last on my list.. I'm sure that's incorrect somehow!
hmmm... retirement looks quite rosy at the mo! ;)

Thunder and lightning yesterday in the north east, it was bad.. dogs were so afraid, had to bring them in.. Mickey was really scared, Ben hadn't seem thunder and lightning before and stood looking in amazement
... anyway, photos and video’s from New Orleans, puts it all in perspective – we’re so lucky here!

Also big day for SSMH, playing DOLAN'S tonight!!! - gd luck guys!!
